Ah, that time of the year ago. Albeit I’m not a big football fan (those bums do look taught live though), I do have a good time with the advertisements. Since moving to Canada, however, I have to search out the biggest television campaigns of the year on video search engines and forgo the live festivities. This year, however, a little commercial called “Veggie Love” got it’s mega-viewership before the grand kick off when NBC refused to air their Super Bowl ad. Cost effective on PETAs account.
The complete list of changes required by NBC in order to air the ad, as listed on PETAs website are:
-
licking pumpkin
touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli
pumpkin from behind between legs
rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin
screwing herself with broccoli (fuzzy)
asparagus on her lap appearing as if it is ready to be inserted into vagina
licking eggplant
rubbing asparagus on breast
What a list! Obviously not so kosher for network television, but sounds like a good time all around. Everyone knows sex sells, most Super Bowl campaigners ride that train every ad. PETA use standard beauty ideals and hot female flesh to make their points about consuming animal products with a shock factor that I can admire. This latest ad actually seems pretty tame and less shocking than their more ironic ads. It’s not so gratuitous, it’s simple implications of having some good get off time with your local produce sections stars.
It must be said that using certain veggies and fruits in sex play may have detrimental health repercussions, but if you prefer organic inanimate toys to inorganic, play safe. And damn, that eggplant does look kind of sexy…
Check out “Veggie Love” for yourself.
